Liz Kunz, President of Girls on the Run International, is a lifetime advocate for girls' and women's issues and has always encouraged others to find and celebrate their voices. With over twenty years of extensive leadership experience in both the non-profit and corporate sectors, she brings a sharp business acumen coupled with a resolute commitment to empowering girls and women to the organization.
Liz spent nine years working for the YMCA and this is where she first met Molly Barker in 2000. The immediate connection she felt with Molly was deep. Molly shared the mission of Girls on the Run, to educate and prepare girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living, and it profoundly resonated with Liz's personal mission. She served as a volunteer for the organization in its early years and joined the staff as Chief Operating Officer in 2006. Liz is passionate about the Girls on the Run movement and is dedicated to freeing girls and women from the barriers and cultural limitations that still exist in the United States and across the globe.
Liz is the proud Mom of 15 year-old Catie. They enjoy music, movies and spending time outdoors – especially in the water! She and her 4-legged daughters, Cassie and Piper, are "Girls on the Walk" and can be found each morning enjoying the fresh air, listening to the birds and doing their best to refrain from chasing squirrels as they walk the tree-lined streets of Charlotte.
